Adaptive Cruise Control
On the highway, following distance is akin to safety. With the adaptive cruise control system in the 2021 Honda Odyssey, you’ll be able to set both a preferred speed and ideal following distance, and the system will decide which to prioritize depending on traffic ahead. When you approach a slower vehicle, it will maintain a safe following distance until one of you changes lanes and the road opens up again.
Blind Spot Monitoring
The biggest knock on minivans is how difficult it can be to manage traffic, but the blind spot monitoring system in the new Honda Odysesy aims to fix that problem. It will let you know not only when a vehicle is next to you, but can even warn you when a vehicle is approaching quickly from behind, so you don’t accidentally change lanes in front of an oncoming vehicle.
Rear Cross Traffic Alert
Backing out of a driveway or parking space into oncoming traffic is inherently dangerous, given the speed discrepancy between you and the vehicles driving behind you. With the Rear cross traffic alert system, you’ll be warned of approaching traffic as you back out, so you can wait for a safer moment to join the road.
