Although the Honda Civic has always been a global product, there have been some differences between the one offered in the U.S. and Europe—at least, until the tenth generation. Now, the car is of one design, and a global product, which has enabled us to finally welcome the Civic Type R into dealerships.
Given that the tenth generation is all-new, so is the Civic Type R. Its production-spec model was recently unveiled in Geneva, allowing us to bask in the glory of its aggressive hot-hatch styling. With a mesh lower grille, standard LED headlights, and a giant wing spoiler, its definitely got the looks part covered.
Its inner workings, however, are sure to thrill the enthusiasts toward which the car is marketed. A 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four mated to a standard (and exclusive, we might add) six-speed manual are the tools of the trade here, with 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of twist. Stopping is handled by cross-drilled Brembo brake rotors in front and in back.
Better yet, it arrives in showrooms like ours soon (best estimates put its arrival at early summer, late spring). Contact our Honda dealership in Pensacola, FL to learn more, and schedule a test drive when it arrives.
