There are numerous ways in which Honda is committed to a greener future with lower carbon foot prints as standard fair. While this can be seen in many of the brand's models, it's never been more visible than with the 2017 Clarity. What sets this car apart isn't its upscale interior or space-age design, but its reliance on its hydrogen fuel cell powertrain.
Recently, Autoblog—who obsessively cover all things automotive—got their chance to try the new Clarity and came away quite impressed. And their praise wasn't all directed at the Clarity's H2 powertrain. In fact, the whole package impressed them—from the digital displays to the open-pore wood and upscale furnishings.
Of course, the hydrogen powertrain was a focal point. With 174 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque, its not quite as nimble as other models in Honda's range, but the confident balance of the steering and the quiet acceleration were high points for the reviewer. They even noted that Honda had packaged its fuel cell and battery in such a way that cabin and trunk space aren't greatly effected.
