Honda has some exciting environmentally savvy electrified vehicles in the works as it aims to expand its environmental portfolio.
The new dedicated hybrid model will be built in America and launch in the U.S. in 2018. It will be part of the Honda Electrification Initiative.
"Half of the all-new models Honda will launch in the United States in the coming two years will be electrified vehicles," said Takahiro Hachigo, President & CEO of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. "In the long term, electrified vehicles are key to the future of carbon-free mobility."
By 2030, Honda says it hopes two-thirds of all sales will be from electrified models by 2030. It also seeks to halve its total company CO2 emissions from 2000 levels by 2050.
